Who we are

What makes Pillow May different?

At Pillow May our philosophy is simple; we aim to maximise the potential of everyone we work with, be that our customers, internal team or suppliers.

We think of our clients as a community; diverse in their needs, from start-ups to fully fledged businesses with turnovers up to £1 million. Our talented team offers business consultancy and personalised advice in many different contexts.

We specialise in Tailor Made AccountingPayroll and Tailor Made Tax services.

We are general practitioners and refer to a network of trusted specialists when necessary to give the full range of skills otherwise only available in a larger practice. Our clients have the benefit of advice from a small friendly team they can get to know and who know them, without sacrificing the level of knowledge and expertise available.

We are pioneers in new accounting technology, having worked with cloud accounting software almost since its inception. We are partners with FreeAgent; Xero and Receipt Bank, and 7 of our 9 staff members are certified Xero Advisors, so we take technology very seriously!

Pillow May aim to help everyone in business. We are part of B1G1 – Buy one Give one, a global giving initiative where we ‘give back’ to international projects for every set of accounts, tax return or client feedback form submitted, alternating our giving with donations to local charities recommended to us  by our clients. You can see our ‘Giving Impact’ below.

Our history and core values

Jessica Pillow founded Pillow May in 2009, in response to the lack of flexibility in traditional accounting roles for working parents. Pillow May’s philosophy of maximising potential stems from her vision to think PINK, that is, offer a Personal service, whilst Inspiring and Nurturing businesses, and offering Kinship to all our clients and suppliers.

Nestled deep in rural Wiltshire, the Pillow May Office is always a hive of activity and our clients are always welcome to drop by for a cup of tea! Pillow May’s rural roots are not only incorporated in our branding but in the way we work – we operate from a paperless, energy efficient and environmentally friendly office, everything from solar panels to tea bag composting!
